Spyware Troubles?

Nearly everyone has experienced computer repair problems with virus, adware, or spyware. There are a few things that you can do to remove some problem software before calling a pc repair shop. Here are some easy steps to try:

  • 1. If you have internet access, download Spyware Terminator
  • 2. Install it and run a FULL scan
  • 3. Remove any problems it finds and allow a restart if necessary
  • 4. Download Free AVG antivirus from download.com
  • 5. Install it and run a FULL scan
  • 6. Remove any problems it finds
  • 7. Download Spybot Search and Destroy
  • 8. Install it and run a FULL scan
  • 9. Remove any problems it finds and allow a restart if necessary

These pieces of software will remove most virus, adware, and spyware that you encounter. If the problem persists, and you find that desktop repair or laptop repair is necessary, please call us for a repair estimate.

PC Buying Tip

Windows XP is still available

For those of you not willing to "upgrade" to the new Windows Vista, there is a viable option. Until the end of June 2008, Microsoft will continue to ship to partners like Dell.

Why does it matter?

It doesn't take an extensive search to find people complaining about the new Microsoft OS. Our customers dislike it by a margin of about 10 to 1. Complaints include: Slow response, incompatible peripherals, annoying user access control and many others. We especially recommend XP to customers who are buying "bargain basement" computers. These computers are unable to run Vista well at all, but run XP easily.

Where can you get it?

Most computer makers still ship XP based PC's, but you will have to order them. Local big box computers are all Vista at this point. We recommend Dell for desktops and laptops and Lenovo for higher end business laptops. Feel free to call us for a specific recommendation.
